Learning School Questionnaire

The Research

Five aims will be used to guide our research into Personalised Learning:
  1. What is Personalised Learning? (A combination of all research methods)
  2. How do students like to learn? (Surveys, rich tasks, vox pops)
  3. To what extent is Personalised Learning being used today? (Focus groups, observations, interviews)
  4. Is Personalised Learning widely supported? What are the alternatives? (Focus groups, questionnaires, vox pops)
  5. Is Personalised Learning always the best way forward? (Rich tasks, focus groups, interviews, observations)

Methods

Due to the diversity of the topic, a number of research methods will be applied across schools. These are expanded on below:

  • Questionnaires- these will be distributed amongst staff and pupils throughout the school
  • Focus groups- small structured discussions will be carried out with pupils or staff to explore the topic of Personalised Learning
  • Observations- with consent from teachers the Learning School team hope to observe individual lessons
  • Vox pops- these are short video interviews which will be used to compliment our research
  • Interviews- we hope to carry out individual interviews with selected members of staff
  • Rich Tasks- (What is a Rich Task?)
